The purpose of the Regional organization is to improve coordination, to enhance leadership in the Chapters, and to provide assistance to the Chapters in implementing programs and projects which support the Army, its soldiers, civilians and their families. The Regional organization is not designed to replace or dilute the direct relationship existing between National Headquarters and each Chapter. Routine administrative matters are handled directly between Chapters and the National office. National will ensure that region presidents are advised of any significant matter raised by a chapter.
Regions make valuable contributions to AUSA’s overall effectiveness by furnishing advice and suggestions, by acting as a reviewing mechanism or sounding board for AUSA Chapter publications and/or proposed actions, by suggesting media outlets for distribution of AUSA material, by representing the Council of Trustees at Chapter functions and through speaking engagements, arranging media interviews and teaching opportunities, etc., and by conducting Region meetings that promote and enhance the Association’s goals and objectives.
